Connection
is the practice.
Community is the medicine.

Tamika Caston-Miller is an author, speaker, executive coach, and yoga teacher trainer whose work is rooted in culturally informed, community-centered practice — and the radical belief that healing was never meant to be a solo endeavor or a commodity. It was always meant to be shared.

"Move, meditate, rest, release — this is how we live and create sustainably."

Yogalandia

Yogalandia is not a place on any map. → It is a world Western Yoga built.

Have you ever walked into a yoga space and felt like a tourist? Or ever wondered whether wellness was ever really meant for you — your body, history, or even full presence?

This book is a guided tour of the wellness world as it has been built — and a grounded, philosophically rooted vision of what comes after.

Yogalandia is written from the perspective of a yoga teacher and practitioner that lived in a fat, Black body and never saw herself in the studio, a permaculturist building for a sustainable and welcoming village, and a community steward who has spent thirty years inside of the world and practices of yoga quietly building something from within it for those for whom wellness was not ever conceptualized.

This is a book about belonging, and the modern possibilities of an ancient practice for all who seek it.

Yogalandia is guided tour of the wellness world
we built… and what comes after.

"This book is for anyone who has wondered whether wellness was ever really meant for them — and who is ready to stop asking permission to rest."

Not losing myself in it all took a long time to learn and integrate for myself. Our un-metabolized fears — of unworthiness, of self-doubt, of doing things differently than the way we were taught — will have us believing we can outpace everyone else to win a version of ourselves that helps us forget who we used to be. The truth is: that past version always comes with us. And unless we do the work to transcend it, it will be the one driving the vehicle of our ambition.

"The actual hustle is creating the supportive systems — not the unending cycles of work."

I am yoga futurist, executive coach, speaker, and writer. My work lives at the intersection of nervous system science, ancient yogic philosophy, and Afro-diasporic wisdom traditions. It is specifically in service of people from traditionally marginalized communities who are building something real and need a guide who actually gets it.

Through Ashé Yoga Collective, I've trained hundreds of yoga teachers globally. Writing for Yoga Journal, in my Substack Soul Garden, and the storytelling without code-switching in podcast This Is Not Tea (co-hosted with Ashley Rideaux) represents the broader conversation I’m having about what wellness looks like when it dismantles diet culture, fatphobia, and ableism, and refuses to leave the most impacted communities out of the room.

I lead international retreats, speak at conferences, coach executives, and train yoga teachers how to put more inclusive yoga into the world.

When I'm not in the studio or on my laptop, I'm designing with flowers and being a gigi. Both of those things are also part of the practice.

SPEAKING & KEYNOTES

Words that
move rooms to
action.

Tamika's talks are not motivational speeches. They are reckonings. She brings the rigor of a philosopher, the warmth of a community builder, and the precision of a nervous system educator — and she speaks directly to the people in the room who have been told, explicitly or implicitly, that they have to earn the right to rest. Audiences leave with embodied tools and a genuinely different relationship to what success can look like.

EXECUTIVE COACHING

Lead differently.
Grounded, not grinding.

Unless you're an ER doctor, no one is going to die while you take that 15-minute rest break. And even if you are an ER doctor, build a triage that doesn't fall apart because you stepped away for 15 minutes.

Tamika coaches executives, founders, and emerging leaders — with a particular focus on those from traditionally marginalized communities — who are building something meaningful and are ready to do it without extracting from themselves to get there. This is somatic leadership coaching rooted in the principle of creating without extraction: from the earth, from your community, or from yourself. Nervous system regulation, identity work, and strategic clarity woven into a single container.

“The first class I took with Tamika was electric. She brings a joy and playfulness to her practice that can be felt in the music she chooses to the tone she sets with each intention for yoga experience. One minute you’ll be dancing and the next you might be shedding some emotional weight and find yourself in tears. Whatever happens, know that this wise woman is holding space for you and guiding you towards the best, most joyous version of yourself.”
